About DBAInspect

Enterprise Oracle Database Experts since 2007. Specializing in High Availability, Core Infrastructure Upgrades, and Secure Audits.

Behind DBAInspect is WAA Kft., an elite IT consultancy founded in 2007 with a laser focus on mission-critical Oracle database environments. For nearly two decades, we have operated at the highest tier of the enterprise market, engineering, securing, and maintaining core database architectures for banking institutions, government agencies, and major corporate software developers.

Enterprise Oracle Core Infrastructure Engineering (RAC, Data Guard, and OS Migrations)

While many modern teams only scratch the surface of cloud databases, our experience is rooted in bare-metal, high-availability enterprise environments. We have supported core business infrastructures through decades of technological evolution.

Our hands-on expertise spans from legacy systems running Oracle 8 on HP-UX platforms to modern architectures utilizing Oracle Real Application Clusters (RAC) and Oracle Data Guard for zero-downtime, maximum availability architecture (MAA).

We specialize in complex, high-risk operational transitions, including:

  • Cross-Platform OS Migrations: Seamlessly migrating multi-terabyte production databases from legacy Unix platforms (HP-UX, IBM AIX, Solaris) to modern Oracle Linux environments.

  • Version Upgrades & Lifecycle Management: Successfully guiding enterprise environments through continuous generation upgrades—from legacy editions up to Oracle Database 19c, and currently architecting blueprints for the latest Oracle 26ai enterprise deployments.

Optimizing Oracle Standard Edition (SE2) and Navigating Vendor Licensing Rules

Operating in a highly cost-conscious environment also taught us how to maximize efficiency. A core pillar of our consultancy is ensuring that companies running Oracle Standard Edition (SE / SE2) achieve enterprise-grade stability and high availability without the crushing budget requirements of full Enterprise licenses.

We have helped our clients navigate and survive the increasingly complex Oracle licensing landscape over the past 15 years, architecting workarounds for major vendor shifts such as:

  • The retirement of Oracle SE One.

  • The transition from SE to SE2, bringing harsh hard-coded CPU thread limitations.

  • The virtualization trap, where running Oracle on modern VMware clusters led to catastrophic licensing multipliers.

  • The deprecation of the SE RAC (Real Application Clusters) option.

  • The ongoing complexities of multi-chip CPU licensing.

The Strategic Expansion to PostgreSQL Open-Source Database Systems

As licensing costs and compliance audits became more aggressive across the industry, many organizations naturally began exploring open-source alternatives. To serve this specific market need, we expanded our core competencies to include PostgreSQL architecture and performance tuning.

Today, we bring our rigorous, enterprise-grade Oracle mindset to the PostgreSQL world. We design, optimize, and support PostgreSQL databases for specific workloads or clients who require a reliable open-source path alongside their legacy commercial systems.

Why Was the DBAInspect Security and Performance Audit Tool Created?

Having participated in dozens of strict financial security audits—including rigorous compliance checks by the National Bank of Hungary (MNB) and major international auditors—we repeatedly witnessed a critical flaw in database management.

Many companies lack high-level, in-house Oracle DBA expertise. IT teams are often afraid to touch their production environments because they do not fully understand the underlying configuration, leaving them blind to performance bottlenecks, misconfigured user privileges, and hidden licensing risks. Usually, these liabilities are only discovered when an external auditor issues a failing report.

DBAInspect was born out of the necessity for a safe, foolproof database health check and compliance tool. I engineered it to be a strictly read-only software that securely extracts critical operational, security, and licensing parameters without locking system resources or requiring senior DBA knowledge to interpret. It translates raw database dictionary metrics into clear, actionable, executive-ready reports—allowing you to fix vulnerabilities before the official auditors knock on your door.

2026: Bringing Global Oracle and PostgreSQL Expertise to Your Inbox

For years, we shared our scripts, deep-dives, and licensing workarounds on a localized tech blog. In 2026, we launched dbainspect.com to scale our enterprise database experience globally.

Whether you are looking to secure an enterprise Oracle RAC cluster, optimize an Oracle Linux 19c environment, prepare for a 23ai upgrade, or explore a PostgreSQL migration, we provide the tools and insights you need to keep your production data safe, fast, and compliant.

Ready to secure and optimize your database?

Whether you need help with a complex Oracle audit, a migration, or have questions about the DBAInspect tool, I am here to help.
